IFMA held a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) on 25 August 2023 at the Sunlake Hotel, Danau Sunter, Sunter, Jakarta, which was attended by 30 participants from IFMA member and non-IFMA member companies.
The FGD had the theme “Aspects of Seafarer Protection in the Recruitment and Placement of Indonesian Seafarer on Foreign Ships”.
The FGD was opened by Capt. Guntur F. Phahensa who represented the Director of Shipping and Seafarer Affairs of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation as well as the Keynote Speaker and also presented several other speakers from BPRS Suriyah, PT. Asuransi Syariah Keluarga Indonesia (PT. ASYKI) and PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk.

Explanation of Minister of Transportation Regulation number: PM. 12 of 2021, PM. 59 of 2021 and KM. 30 of 2008 relating to procedures and licensing requirements for the Recruitment and Placement of Domestic and Overseas Ship Crews relating to Seafarer Protection Aspects in the two Ministry of Transportation Regulations and Procedures and Requirements for obtaining a SID Card (ILO Conv. 185).
The presentation material presented by other resource persons concerned the Insurance Scheme for Ship Crews, the bank financing scheme for Seafarer through the Unsecured Credit (KTA) / People’s Business Credit (KUR) program and the housing/business credit financing program via the Bank.
